If you're looking at a page and you're saying to yourself, 'hey, that's all jacked up', you can correct the page or add your comments. All you have to do is click on the button at the bottom of the page that says Edit This Page. But, before you can do that you have to register and log on. Sorry. I know it's a pain.
Now, as a registered user, when you click on the Edit This Page button, a new window will open. Edit the content as necessary and click Save to save. That's all there is to it!
If you think there's a need to create a new page, that's easy to do too. All you have to do is click the Edit this Page button and, in the resulting window, add a link to the page you want to create.
To create a link, you just type in a link using DokuWiki syntax for adding a link. I forgot to mention –you have to think of a name for the page you intend to create and the link must incorporate that name. For example, if you think that a page about ice cream flavors is not really complete until it has a link to a page dedicated to coconut cream pie, by all means, choose a name for the new page –coconut_cream_pie for example, and add double square brackets around it like this: [[cocunut_cream_pie]] . That's a link to the new page. You can create a link that appears in text as 'here' but actually links to 'coconut_cream_pie' by typing the link like this: [[coconut_cream_pie|here]] .
Then click Save.
Now the page about ice cream will have a link titled coconut_cream_pie. If you click on it, a pop up window will inform you that This topic/page does not exist yet and will ask you if you want to create it. Click on Create This Page and add the information that needs to be added. Then click Save. Voila! You're an author! :)
It's a good idea when creating pages to create links back to the page you linked from. Otherwise visitors might become stranded on the new page.
